Everyone wants to save money at the grocery store. We do everything we can to pinch a few pennies including: waiting around for the best sales, clipping coupons, carrying around thousands of store discount cards and shopping at wholesale stores such as Costco and Sam's Club. Just when you thought you knew every trick in the book, you came across this lens. This technique will actually take the change out of your pocket, while keeping it in your bank account.

How it Works...
Before going to the grocery store I gather up whatever loose change I have lying around and stick it in my pocket. When I am ready to check out, I head right for the self check out lane. Before paying with my debit card, I stick all the change I have into the change slot. This allows me to save money in my checking account, while getting rid of all that loose change I had laying around my house. Though it may sound silly, it definitely makes a big difference.

How Much Can I Save?
It depends on how much change you have and how often you visit your grocery store. I will show you some scenarios of how much money can be saved and what you could do with that extra cash (besides paying bills, of course). Each figure is based on a 52 week year, assuming you grocery shop once a week.
$1 each week = $52 in savings for the year.
